- All around great experience Review by Brandt

The fan arrived in timely manor. Communication with the trucking company was excellent. Installation took a total of 5 hours and I was alone. Fan works great. Only small complaint is that the controller and fan motor emits a high pitch whine. Maybe 30 decibels. All in all,
a great product and re-seller.

- Excellent value Review by John B

We have a few very large BAF's in our factories, purchased direct over the past 10 years. They are extremely efficient, and our payback period was less than 6 months in heating gas alone. In the summer, they provide steady constant air movement removing condensation points from the heating/cooling sysle. The fas purchased here are an extraordinary value, however, they are not the typical industrial fans with 8 or 10 blades, they are a slightly scaled down version with 6 blades. The motion control is simple, one of ours needed to be reset (took 10 seconds and is explained in the manual) because the EPROM was not set properly. The gearbox looks solid enough, but this can only be known after years of service. Once concern is that we have different speeds from the fans at the same power settings. This is not a small difference, for example, at 50% speed, one looks to be turning about 30 RPM and the other is running at about 80. Maybe the frequency setting is not right on one of the controllers? These look like variable frequency drives, and more than one variable may control the power exiting the drive...if you only buy one fan, you may never know if the settings are right or wrong, in my opinion. Overall, we will buy more of these as needed, they circulate/cool areas about 10,000-12,000 square feet. We use about a dozen of them and are very happy with BAF, and Ruralking was exceptionally speedy with the delivery. You have to choose a shipping option when checking out (like Dominion freight) or there could be an issue with the shipping, but we got our fans in less than 5 days. Another review stated it took longer, but that was not our experience. When I called to check inventory, I was told that they had 50 in stock...I will buy more! Thanks!

- Effective Fan at cheap price Review by Motor man

Big Ass Fans work great. The constant air movement makes a world of difference in the Houston climate. I own 3 other fans from this company and this one is a less expensive model but works just fine. This fan is in an airplane hanger and puts a smile on my face when I walk in and turn it on. I adapted the mounting base to mount to round beams with U bolts. As all of their fans everything is very complete and simple to install. This price was cheap compared to purchasing the fan direct from the factory. Sounds like a lot of money for a fan but worth every penny.

- Great Fan, Great Deal Review by mmurphy001

I purchased the previous model to this one about a year ago. it looks exactly the same except for the tips of the blades which on mine is just a plain plastic cap. Installation was fairly simple the kit came with almost everything you would need. It came with the mounting brackets for I-Beams and the 3' extension. I converted mine to 240v which is a snap. The one thing I can say is the brute is heavy. I have a 2 man boom lift which made it OK but thinking of putting it up with ladders is a challenge even I would not tackle. The Fan itself is great, it does tend to pull down the hot air from the ceiling more than I thought it would. you need to turn it on a while before it pulls down all the hot air which gets mixed with the air at ground level. If you leave doors or windows open it will eventually get pulled outside. That said, don't underestimate the value of hot air blowing on you verses stagnate air. On the end of the barn with the fan you can work in the heat. on the end of the barn without air blowing on you it is just not bearable. Turn it on before it gets hot and it is great. Double or triple any estimate of how long it will take to get the fan. Rural King cuts a PO to BAF which takes 10 days then you are put on the waiting list at BAF. Expect almost 2 full months before you get it. Overall, it is cheaper to get it from Rural King and I would buy it again.
