SA Sports Crusader Crossbow 225lb Recurve 547
Product Review (submitted on July 13, 2013):
Absolutely great price from Rural King. I will always shop you from now on. You have a store in Ohio but it is a bit of a drive from me.
This recurve takes strength to cock. A man can cock it but my wife and son cannot cock it using the cocking rope. They would need a cocking crank. The cocking rope reduces the 225 lbs pull by 50%. Once cocked it shoots like a rifle. Anyone can shoot this bow with accuracy.
I have been looking at crossbows for about 2 years and settled on the SA Sports Crusader Crossbow 225lb Recurve 547. I am very pleased overall. Shipping was fast, price was great. It was missing the tube of rail lube but I was already prepared with a tube, no big deal. Assembly was a snap, took my time, read all the directions and was done in 30 minutes.
Quality points: Cover on the scope popped off after 2 days of shooting, put a dab of glue on the ends to hold them in. Be CERTAIN to screw down the grub screws on the nose bolt and foot stirrup TIGHT with loctite.
Positives: I love the dependability of a recurve, There isn't the hassle of cams, buss strings, cam timing etc. A person can restring this bow themselves (with a bow press). No need to take it to the archery shop. Wonderful accuracy. The scope is plenty good enough. The reticle in the scope is perfect for this bow. I sighted it in over 2 days starting at 30 yards. The cross lines and the dots are dead on for 30, 40, 50, 58, and 70 yards. There is one more dot to sight in (maybe it is 80 yards). It is very cool busting bulls-eyes at 70 yards with a crossbow.
Bottom line. Fantastically strong and accurate crossbow. A must have for a strong man or boy.
