I love the way it delivers fertilizer quickly and up to 2" deep and quickly covers it. I hate the open/close mechanism's operation. You open and close the fertilizer drop chute by turning by about 15-20 degrees with a short handle. There is no visible indicator that tells you whether it is open or closed and frankly I'm not sure whether I got fertilizer in some of the rows or not.
On first use the Earthway seeder was easy to use, and I think I got good seed placement quickly and easily. Switching to the fertilizer hopper was also simple and easy, and the operation, short of the on/off lever operation, was also easy. Again, for both seeding and fertilizing, I love the seed/fertilizer depth control mechanism.
