- First time I found King Kutter product to be of poor quality and design Review by Rick

I purchased this King Kutter Chain guard for the front of my 5' wide King Kutter rotary brush hog. I use in on my Ford 3000 tractor to trim the roads going into my hunting camp, and we have a lot of gravel and rocks that fly out. Being concerned for my safety, and having good experiences with King Kutter products, I wanted a factory chain guard for the front of the brush hog to keep things from flying out. This is the first time I've purchased a King Kutter product that I felt was of poor quality and poor design. First of all, it was the correct width, but it simply DOES NOT fit up. There are several interferences from weldments on the rotary cutter that do not allow you to snug it up or mount it to the top. I had to "notch" the angle iron bracket on the chain guard by hand using a steel cutting blade to attempt to fit it into place. Even after doing so, there is an interference on the ends of the chain guard with the side frame on the brush hog that still did not allow me to mount it after notching the chain guard to fit. What a mess! Net, I am having to purchase a separate raw piece of heavy flat stock of steel to mount it on the brush hog first so that I can attach the chain guard on to it to make it fit. This involves drilling several holes through 1/2" steel plate on the brush hog to make it work. To do this, I have had to purchase heavy drill bits, more bolts, etc. There were no mounting brackets shipped with the unit to remedy this, and there were NO installation instructions, just a shipping order. In addition, the chain guard IS NOT built with typical thick King Kutter steel. The main angle iron mounting bracket appears less than 1/8" thick! The King Kutter itself has between 1/4" and 1/2" thick steel, this thing is paper thin. I predict the stones being thrown out will tear this thing to pieces. Since it cost about $130, I'm going to mount it and give it a go. The parts and pieces and tooling I've had to purchase to get this thing to fit up cost nearly as much as the unit itself. I've had many other positive purchase experiences with Rural King, but this was not one of them due to the poor quality and design of this King Kutter front chain guard. Dissapointed from Michigan's Upper Penninsula.

- Front Chain Guard Review by Stacey B

Well, this is something that should be installed on ALL bush hogs from the factory for safety but its an OPTION??? I purchased the King Kutter 60" cutter 2nd hand so needed this guard for safety & protection. Great price and shipping included can't complain! Only issue was no instructions with product for installation, x1 bolt was missing due to package damage, but overall no major issues.

- Q & A
Product QuestionsLooking to mount this on a JD 513 rotary cutter. What are the measurements C-C of the mounting holes along the top. I need to see if the holes on the unit line up, or if creating new ones on the cutter is feasible.
Also, do you provide the nuts, bolts, and washers as well? If so, at what grade?
Thanks!Question by: GAtimberdoodle on Jun 14, 2016 12:58:00 AMHello, I have reached out to the manufacture for the information and they have stated, 'The hardware does come with the chain guards and the bolts are a grade 5.
The measurements from the end to the center of each hole is: 3 5/8
56 3/4' Thank you, RuralKing.comAnswer by: Rachel (Admin) on Jun 17, 2016 10:22:00 AM
