King Kutter's XB Middle Buster/Sub-Soiler combines strength and durability to offer a tool with many uses. Its tubular steel shank and heavy duty frame construction make a solid platform for the furrower to do its job. The middle buster point is great for laying off rows, digging potatoes pointing a ditch, general field prep, and many other farm, field, and garden uses. The sub-soiler point is for ripping sod and loosening compacted soil for better plant growth and production.

Not right for me Review by Ray

Good product and Rural King was easy to shop and ship. Will order from them again.

The depth I can get on my L3301 is really only about 6 inches. I could not use this on my quick hitch because the pin spacing is too narrow. After more research, it seems this is designed for sub compacts but I didn't see that anywhere on the RK website.

I haven't tried the plow because I ordered this for the subsoiler to lay water line 18 inches deep.

Great for digging potatoes Review by Maxx

I bought this after years of hand digging potatoes. This thing is great for digging potatoes. I also used it to plow up some ground to expand my garden and it worked great for that. I am very happy I spent the money.

great Review by Richard Sellars

Recieved within days of order. I have a compact new tractor. Works great and well built. Best to use Fed Ex for your shipment. I also ordered fence shipped by Ellis. Still waiting on that order, placed at the same time.

wouldn't work for me Review by Robert Bentley

Comparable to other products of its kind. However, it did buckle the three point hitch twice when I tried to use it. No damage was done, but I couldn't use it. After research, I found other retailers that it had a 25hp limit on it(tractor size). My tractor is 45 hp.

Expectations Well Met Review by Cal

I'd been wanting a middle buster for a couple years to plow spuds, clean out ditches, break new ground for the tiller, etc. Been keeping an eye on Craig's List, ebay, local want ads, etc. but very little available for a good price...or at least a price much lower than what Rural King had on this unit. The fact that their unit also included a subsoiler chisel just made thier deal even sweeter. When RK advertised free shipping, I couldn't resist and promptly ordered one.

The only problem I experienced in the process was that the plow came without the bolts required to affix the moldboard/sub-soiler chisel to the vertical shaft. When I called RK however, the customer service rep with whom I spoke immediately contacted the folks at King Kutter who in turn promptly shipped the bolts to me in two arguements from anyone.

Upon assembly, I immediately set out to dig two rows of potatos. The plow worked perfectly and was very controllable for depth with the hydraulic controls on my BX24.

I'm sure you can find a competitor's middle buster with slightly prettier welds but the ones on this unit all appear strong and didn't break even when I sank the plow full depth to the horizontal 3pt hitch shaft...just to test it; pretty is as pretty does!

KK/RK's BX sub-compact middle buster appears to be a well-made product, a good value for the person who needs to use one a couple times a year on small acreages and mid-sized gardens.
