Giardinera - The Italian word “giardinera” translates to "woman gardener." It is derived from the root giardino, which means "garden." Giardinera is a commonly used condiment or topping on Chicago-style Italian Beef sandwiches. It is often made with serrano peppers (called "sport" peppers in Chicago), assorted vegetables, such as bell peppers, olives, celery, pimentos, carrots, cauliflower and sometimes crushed red pepper flakes, in a marinade of vegetable, olive, or soybean oil.

I have tried many, many jars of Giardiniera made by a vast array of different suppliers, but this one is easily the best. The flavor is outstanding, much better than any I have tried previously.
