I thought that buying this and its fittings, plus regulator and hose separately would take care of propane tank hookup but still had to go get a brass nipple to hookup properly. I used the valve but the aluminum flex line that comes with it is poor quality I didn't use it save your money and just buy a shutoff valve that will hook up to 3/8" fitting.

Product QuestionsQuestion by: Loyal Adams on Feb 7, 2013 1:17:26 PMHello Loyal,
It should fit most gas hook ups it includes:
22" stainless flexible gas connector with 1/2"female flare at both ends
Brass shut-off valve with 1/2" FPT x 1/2" male flare
1/2" male x 1/2" MIP
1/2" male flare x 3/8" MIP
1/2" M flare x 3/8" FIP, and seal tapeAnswer by: D.J. (Admin) on Feb 7, 2013 1:17:26 PMI'm having a professional run my new section of gas line, my question on this part is:
Does the shutoff valve part connect to the heater or to the gas line. If that makes sense. Like valve at the heater n the house or outside..
