- Great Mower for the $$ - Great Customer Service in Bloomington, IN Review by Tim
Quality Price Value
I bought this mower from the Bloomington, IN store. First, let me say the Assistant Manager, Angela, was super to work with and she went the extra mile to earn the sale. She let me test drive the mower and that is what clinched the sale. Now, for the mower review. A similar feature model at Lowes, with a 22hp Kohler, was $300 more. What I like about the MTD Gold is the speed/hydrostatic drive is controlled by your hand. At Lowes, and other stores, you have to use your foot and keep pressure on the peddle. That just seemed to tiring for me. Only mowed once so far, but I really like the mower and it has plenty of speed and control. And, it mowed great with no scalping on my hills. One thing I don't like on the mower, although most mowers are this way now, is you can't mow in reverse (safety feature) unless you turn the key to "reverse" and press a button. Kind of awkward, but it works. I found a lot of the Troy Built models at Lowes you couldn't mow in reverse at all. I also found a few other reviews of this model on other websites and they were all very positive. Hope this review helped someone.

Product QuestionsI buying a riding mower since I bought it I been having trouble with the belt that work blade it will not stay on pulley. brought to shop they claim to have fix it but it does the same thing. Just got it back cut grass only once with it came to cut it today belt will not stay on I can't see to pay $2000.00 for a riding lawnmower and have those problem with it. The motor runs great I love it but some has to fix the problem or I will tell them to keep this mower
Question by: Donald on Sep 15, 2013 8:40:13 PMHello,
I am sorry to hear you are having problems with your mower. Did you talk to your local store's repair shop again and inform them that the belt is once again coming off? Unfortunately I am unable to do anything from this end. Your store should be able to remedy this for you. If you have any more questions, do no hesitate to ask.
