Assembly:

1. Insert limbs into stock to the white line. Make sure the pressure pad is in place between the limbs and the limb retaining screw. Do not over tighten!

2. Feed the limb cover tight to both sides of the limbs. Feed the string loop over the left end of the limb. Hold the right end of the limb in your right hand and the string in your left hand. Behind the right end of the limb and slip the string loop over it. Make sure the string fits snug into the slots on the limbs.

5. Release the safety mechanism. The crossbow is now ready to shoot!

When I saw this at Rural King for the price, I thought how can I lose, wow what a great little crossbow for target shooting. I bought the first one for my nephew's birthday and loved it so much I bought two more for my kids. This thing is serious, it's not a toy, so parents beware.

I was excited about this bow, but when I got it and shot it a couple of times the winding on the bow string came undone. I have tried to fix it but it didn't turn out well.

well built and fun Review by Mark
Quality

Nice construction that doesn't feel flimsy, even when cocking it. I have used it a bit in a short range that I have in my back yard. At 15 yards it will still completely bury the bolt in my stryfoam based target and I have to pull them with pliers. I've lost two bolts so far, but believe they are just second strikes on my target and buried too deep to find. Sighting in is an on going process, although I have it close now. It tends to shoot high because it actually has a bit of recoil, so two handed grip helps, wth one on the front grip and one on the pistol grip. Stringing it was a challenge until I found a good video on You Tube. Still required two of us in the end to get the string on. Overall really enjoying it!

This item appeared in an email. I did not even know these were available at Rural King. The price was great so I went for it. Great discussion! Very strong and pretty accurate from 40 - 50 feet. Ok, I was hitting a small sized book at that distance.
If it broke today, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another one just like it.
PS Do yourself a favor and buy extra bolts. They tend to get lost. They were going through 3/8 plywood.

not worth it Review by james grimm

Design is flawed. Cocks easy enuf. But where the string rest is, is the problem. As you pull it to cock it the weapon the string drops behind the rail. When you pull the trigger it jumps up pulling front or weapon up. Its hard to compensate for the jump. Ive tried aiming low but still hard to even hit dart board and 12ft. Would not recomend purchase to anyone else.

Purchased one of these for family gatherings and WOW how they all
enjoyed using it. While it is not a toy, all the kids and grandkids enjoy
shooting the "pistol" [with supervision] . May use it to" nail "a couple of "critters" I want to get rid of around the outside buildings.
Great product and I would recommend it to all who enjoy outside activities.

Great product. Review by Stephen

The DX 70 pistol crossbow is a great product. I love target practicing with it. I have shot many bolts through it. (around 120 bolts on the first day after buying it) It is very accurate at 15-20 yards. The rear sight is well made for being stock. Wish the front sight was made from something sturdier. Wish there was a replacement bow string because it starts to unravel after (for the one I bought) the third day shooting it. Little glue or nail polish was a temp fix for it. It pack quite a punch for the size. The price is very affordable. Overall I give this product a A+ worth the $20.

There is a small design flaw with the cocking arms if you lose your grip while cocking. Nothing major no loss of life just the cocking arm will not stay in the rail afterwards. So be sure you don't lose your grip in mid cocking of the pistol.

Deer Slayer and Hunter

I wish I knew who you was because I would report you. Pistol Crossbows are illegal to kill deer with.

I just bought one and so far its a great little toy, the bolt is not heavy enough to make enough kenetic energy to kill large game

This has no power at all. It will not penetrate a cooler lid at 10 feet. Shot a possum on the back porch (5 feet away) and it didnt even stick. It left a cut mark where it hit and bounced off. JUNK

Not bad for a pistol Crossbow.Definitely not for children.Has a good punch to it! Not to bad on accuracy @ 10 to 15 yards. The Fletch does break easy on the bolts.I had bought two for my son's and when they missed their target the bolts were never found (our target was in front of a hill)So yes it is pretty powerful! I give this an A for price and a B+ for quality and the ease of use!

Extremely powerful for it's size. Bolt tips break easily, but you can find hard plastic replacements for cheap.
It has amazed everyone who saw it. Easy to assemble, load, cock and fire.
Be careful! It looks like a toy, but definitely is not.

Nice little compact crossbow for ADULTS Review by Kevin
Price
Value

Centering the cross member is a key to accuracy with this. Also sight adjustments pretty vague however the unit works well and is fairly accurate at the close range i practiced at. I got this on sale for less then $18 and it is worth the price IF the limb ends dont break too soon. Is quite a powerful little crossbow for the money. As others said the bolts will break fairly easy if shot at something solid so buy plenty of spare bolts. I plan to try this out on some slightly larger and more durable bolts in the future.

Awesome little crossbow to do some target shooting with. A lot more power than I expected. The plastic notch that locks the cocking mechanism to the frame broke off on the first day, but it is no problem if you have a solid grip on the handle. Bolts will break if fired into anything solid like a piece of wood or any hard material. This thing can do some damage if you're on the receiving end, so I wouldn't recommend this for kids at all unless supervised. Overall, it's an awesome piece and is definitely worth all of the $20 I gave for it.
