not recommended Review by Pat

Well the first time we used our it almost exploded it built up so much pressure it bent the top. I can see why generator sales are final that is a bunch of bull. This is not a good generator unless you want to blow up or start something on fire. Very upset with defective merchandise and them not caring

Started on fire first time Review by Kurt

This product started on fire the first time i used it. I am going to take the burned out hunk of metal back to the store and get a Honda. I seriously hope they dont give me a problem it could have killed everyone in the RV.

Good Review by S. D.

The Product came when Rural King said it would. I have used the product once and it had good performance. Looking for durability, but that will come in time hopefully. The only negative feedback I can give is that they only had 22 in the store and some people left with three on their pallet and we had to wait on the back order. But in the long run, Rural King came through and did not mislead us.

Need to limit amounts of sale items each person can buy Review by Joey

When they have a sale in the store there should be a limit on the quantity of the item you can purchase. We tried to buy this item at the store but people we allowed to get as many of them as they wanted, so people were leaving with 6 or 7 generators. We had to purchase this one online and pay all the extra shipping fees and had to wait until a week ago to get it.

want put out electricity at 120/240 plug Review by joe

The store people were nice but this brand new generator wont work.Ive had my mechanics check it out and it STILL wont work! They wont exchange or let me apply its cost and buy a more expensive one.The policy is all generator sales are final...but they should be operable when you buy them!!!!! Otherwise Rural King is selling defective merchandise and doing nothing about it.I doubt anything will come of this review, but I am very upset in Harrisburg,Ill.

Can the generator be started at the store before taking home to insure that it even runs? Lot of money to spend on something that doesn't even start and is only good for the scrap metal yard!
What is the warranty on this, and where would my closest service center be?
Does the RK 6500E generator have a bonded or floating neutral for the 120/240 30amp receptacle? I need to know if my transfer switch has to switch neutral.
Where can I buy a replacement ignition for this 6500E generator at? I want a OEM replacement one, is there a website that I can purchase one at?
I have the Rural King 6500 generator. Where should i connect the negative end of the wire from the battery?

Thank you,
who makes the generator
I have the owner's maneul, but I have 6 large washers and not sure where they go. I though two would go on the inside/outside of each wheel, but only have 6?
What kind of oil does it use.
I have religiously started this generator every month over the past 14 months that I've owned it and then close the gas line to ensure no gas remains in the carb. I noticed that it seemed to get harder and harder to start over the past couple of months. Today, I tried to start it - and went back to it four or five times. It won't start by pulling the cord or using the electric start. All gas has been drained and brand new gas put in. It still will not start. Oil levels are fine. No idea what to do next to get this fixed.
Where do I find the Model Number and Serial Number on this generator? 6500E
where is the serial number?
I have ground fault outlets put on my generator , does it still have to be grounded.
I have 2 air filter elements when i took the cover off Does it need 2 ??
who makes the engine
What is the return policy on rural king generators? Thanks
