Simmental cattle have been documented since the Middle Ages.
Originally from the valley of the Simme River in Switzerland, Simmental cattle are one of the oldest and most distributed cattle breeds. A part of the creation of other breeds, Simmental cattle have many desirable traits that have led to the success of many breeds in Europe. Their best traits include their use as draught animals as well as their use in beef and in dairy. With quickly growing calves, this breed is prized for its maturity.

The oldest recorded giant turtle died at the age of 176.
The largest animal in its habitat, the giant turtle plays a role similar to the elephant's. In its rigorous search for food, it creates pathways that are used by other animals. Turtles can live in groups or on their own; but either way, these reptiles rest during the day after searching for food in the morning. Although stereotyped to be slow and cautious, turtles are known for being speedy when tempted by a treat, being great swimmers and even reaching too far by standing on their hind legs, falling back on their shell. This would result in death though as they are unable to get back on their feet. Turtles have a great defense against predators and danger as they can tuck themselves into their carapace and wait securely. On average, male giant turtles can be almost four feet long, weighing over five hundred pounds.

Sheep are able to see what's behind them without moving their head.
A staple of farms for centuries, sheep are domesticated for their meat, skin, fur, and genetics. As herbivores and ruminants, sheep follow a feeding pattern of grazing and chewing cud. With hundreds of species of sheep, these mammals are quite diverse in hair types and sizes. Ranging from one hundred to four hundred pounds, sheep generally grow to be as old as a decade or two. With excellent senses of hearing and smell, sheep make up for their lack of depth perception. As a flock, sheep are easily swayed by food but also must abide by the pecking order.

Centuries ago St. Bernards were search and rescue dogs, creditied with rescuing two thousand people.
In the 1600s, these canines were housed at the St. Bernard Hospice. Originally employed to work or keep company, they were found to navigate well in snow. Able to locate and revive lost travelers, St. Bernards were responsible for saving numerous lives. As a popular breed today, St. Bernards are known for their gentleness with children. Penguins can dive to depths in the ocean equivalent to the height of a seventy story building.
The second largest species of penguin, the King Penguin is three feet tall and weighs thirty five pounds on average. With its streamlined body, this penguin can swim with little drag with the aid of its flippers. With the aid of a special gland, these birds can drink the water they swim in. To live in harsh conditions, this penguin has four layers of feathers to keep warm and seventy feathers per square inch! The inner three layers are composed of down feathers. The outermost layer of feathers is oiled and waterproof. On land, penguins waddle or toboggan, sliding propelled by feet or flippers. Penguins love to eat fish and squid, but large birds and aquatic mammals love to eat penguins.
