Freeze boredom for the kids at those family picnics while the adults visit and try to carry on conversations; or Gather the children around as the adults introduce the next generation into the great American tradition of making your own ice cream. All it takes is a little ice, rock salt and if desired, flavoring or fruit to turn something already great into something wonderful when made with your own two hands.

White Mountain has developed a 6 quart Electric Ice Cream Machine that is sure to bring enjoyment and excitement to your next family gathering. Equipped with a commercial grade 12,000 RPM motor, no ones arms will get tired and all the ice and salt will stay contained in the tall heavy duty, easy to clean canister made from stainless steel eliminating spilled messes. Encircling the stainless steel ice cream container is a New England Pine stained wood enclosure bucket with quick release slide and lock brackets to hold the bucket in place while churning.

Constructed of cast iron the dasher has electroplated fittings and hand galvanized hoops for ensured durability that will hold the ice cream maker still while the special Beech wood blades conjure up the unique Triple Action motion by rotating and churning the ingredients continuously; creating the smoothest, creamiest home made ice cream NOT available in a store near you.

Motors do not last Review by Jim A

My motor is 2+ years old, and I have used it probably 10 times. A gear in the motor had a few teethe break off while in use. The gear could be easily replaced, but they will not sell you the parts, instead White Mountain wants $100+ for an entire new motor. The motor prior to this one did not last as well, so I am done with White Mountain motors.

We love it. We had one that was 20 plus years old and the motor went out. We have used this one twice and it makes ice cream soft serve in about 25 minutes. The tall cylinder lets it chill faster. It is sturdy. The motor is loud but so are others I have heard.

Best freezer ever!!! Review by CDunn

My husband and I have talked about getting a White Mountain for a long time, but we just wouldn't make the investment until this summer. A friend bought one, and after we saw his ice cream freeze in about 20-25 minutes, we knew it was time. The quality is amazing. We will use it for family gatherings, church picnics, and whenever we want excellent homemade ice cream. This freezer is well worth the money!

Each Use Gets Better Review by Clintster

I purchased the WM to replace a less expensive unit I tried where the plastic motor gears were completely done by the 4th use. However, it seemed to make the ice cream thicken much quicker (about 45 min) than the WM. I question if that's because the motor didn't spin as fast as the WM motor. After 3 uses with the WM, it has performed well with no issues. I am perplexed about it taking well over an hour to stiffen the ice cream. Maybe I need to use more than 3 cups. The WM is expensive, but the price from Rural King was the very best anywhere.

Greatest one I ever had. Review by E Newman

No doubt the best freezer ever made. Ive struggled with ones purchased at any store imaginable. Never could get one that froze the mix solid. Plastic gears always stripped out. Finally one that has a motor strong enough to work. Noise who cares about the noise. It sounds like homemade ice cream being made!
If you want real homemade Ice Cream right-- buy this one. In the long run, its cheaper that any other one on the market

Quality Machine Review by Michael

It's a pricey machine, but it is the best quality you are going to find. The motor is strong enough to make the ice cream rather hard. It doesn't balk when ice gets stuck. The two part dasher with flexing beechwood scrapers does a nice job.

Replacement parts are readily available from the manufacturers site. You can even ad a hand crank if your into that kind of torture.

We have had a White Mountain for many, many years. We have had to put new wire around the wooden tub but it keeps chugging along. There is no other ice cream maker on the market that can compete with it.

High priced & noisy. Not without flaws, but it makes excellent ice cream Review by Mike Krebill

This is my third White Mountain 6 Qt Electric Ice Cream Maker. Have used them for years. They are noisy machines and I find I need to wear earplugs when starting them up, adding ice or salt, etc. I've had three other brands of ice cream makers that were a lot less expensive, but far and away prefer the superior ice cream from the White Mountain machine. My first WM broke a gear after 3 years of use, which I have yet to replace. My second one ran fine for four years, then began seizing up after about 20 minutes, leaving the ice cream mix runny, and I would have to remove the motor drive unit and hand crank for about 10 minutes until the ice cream would be at the proper stage to transfer to the freezer or serve. It needs to be serviced so that the motor will work properly.

Extra freezer Review by Mike

I have been using White Mountain Freezers since the 80's. This was my 3rd freezer purchase. My first one motor burned up after 25 years. The second one is still running strong. I was in an Ice cream churning competition and found out 6 days before competition I was required to make 2 gallons. I tried using a friends freezer but it did not do a good job. It had a 1 piece plastic dasher that did not scrape the side of the can. I called Rural King on Monday and explained I needed a freezer by Friday my freezer arrived on Wednesday.

Why did I wait so Long ? Review by S. Cross

I have been looking and reading about the White Mountain Ice Cream maker for over a year. I read all of the reviews and watched the video and couldn't imagine how this ice cream maker could be this good. The price would indicate that this had to be the real deal. Just before the 4th of July I decided not to wait any longer and made my long waited purchase. I followed included recipe for peach ice cream. I have never experienced home made ice cream like this before. The consistency of the ice cream before I packed it was firmer than I have ever experienced. Making home made ice cream is always fun but I have never been so anxious to make my next batch. All I can say is "Why Did I wait this long to make my purchase?" I have missed alot of good ice cream waiting. The design, construction and mechanics of this ice cream maker truly makes the difference. This is well worth the money and Rural King has the best price and best customer service.

We have owned ice cream makers for the 41 years we have been married. None of the previous makers made the ice cream faster or smoother than this White Mountain 6 quart freezer and we are looking forward to great ice cream for the next 20-30 years. Very happy here in Tennessee.

Questions on White Mountain 6 Qt Electric Ice Cream Maker PBWMIME612-PP6

  • From Ron Yarman at 9/1/13 2:06 PM
    • Q: What is considered the latch when placing the motor in place
    • Show Answer
    • A: Hello,
To latch the motor in to place align the silver White Mountain logo on the outside top of the green motor to be facing the same direction as the White Mountain bucket badge. Both should face you when you put the unit together. Drop the motor down onto the spindle and slide the motor “ears” into the bracket slots. This new and improved design does not need a latch to hold the motor in place. Have a nice day!
