We bought this last year when our other charger quit working. It worked for the summer, then we took the fence down for the winter months. By the way, this only surrounds our garden area, which measures probably about 1500 sq. ft., thus far less than the 15 miles it is supposed to cover. It worked well while it worked last summer, but when we pulled it out this spring to put it up around our strawberry beds in order to keep our chickens out, it does not work. It should not stop working just because it was not being used for a few months. We can get it repaired for about $40, but how long will the repair last? Another 3 or 4 months? I don't trust the product, period. Do not recommend and will not buy again.

Product QuestionsWe have a Blitzer model 8565-D fence charger. At the terminals we only have 2000 volts, using an led fence voltage tester. Is repair possible or just get a new unit? I switched a new unit to this set of wires and it worked excellent. Suggestions. Thanks for the help/advise. TomQuestion by: Tom Mcarthur on Nov 1, 2014 8:48:37 PMHello Tom,
This is what the manufacturer emailed me this morning:
Model 8565 can be repaired. Depending on the serial number and when it was purchased, there may be a cost to repair it. The repair cost if it is out of warranty is $39.
What I would suggest is for the customer to contact our Zareba Technical support line at 1-800-800-1819 x498 and they can help troubleshoot the problem with the charger. If the charger need repaired either the customer can go through the Consumer Care area or they can contact you and you can handle sending the charger for repairs.
Thank you for contacting Rural King.com
