Rugged Ranch Squirrelinator Trap Only SQRTO is rated out of 5 by 37.Rated 5 out of 5 by Riccooley54 from It really works I don't usually write reviews. I live on 2 1/4 acres in Madera County CA. This county doesn't allow poisons to be used to rid ground squirrels. I saw add for this trap being the best squirrel trap. The squirrel families kept getting bigger, holes showing up all over the property, but when they started to live under my house I decided to try this. Nothing happened when I used nuts to trap them. I tried oat meal and were catching 2, 3 or 4 at a time. I have rid most of the pest, filled the holes. Now my neighbors squirrels are coming over and I am trapping them. It really has been the best trap out there.Date published: 2017-10-28Rated 5 out of 5 by Steven from I have used a few traps to capture squirrels. This trap works really good, but only after a few extra steps. Make sure to add a brick or to k on top of the trap to help keep it from moving with multiple squirrels in it. Make sure to dig a small hole under the trap to place the bait in so they can not sit on top of the trap and grab the food without enter g the trap. Use the doors to funnel the squirrels in. The trap works extremely well with doing all of these things, but every trap has its pros and cons. This is the best multi catch trap I have used so far.Date published: 2017-02-13Rated 5 out of 5 by K Price from Our problem is the mice and rats getting the food before the squirrels have a chance to get in. Don't leave it out at night. We have caught 6 so far.Now bought the corn on the cob to try, but how do you get the corn out that is left before getting rid of the squirrels you caught. We are so overloaded with squirrels, so we are drowning them in the cage. I don't want to ruin the corn. Anyone have any answers? We are very satisfied with the cages, they are well built. And caught our first squirrel in less than an hour.Date published: 2017-06-15Rated 5 out of 5 by Sheri Hamilton from I was having problems with ground squirrels eating my chicken feed, digging holes, eating my landscape plants etc. I was going to buy a catch-em live trap but a nice lady at a feed store recommended the "SQUIRRELINATOR" . I bought the trap, pulled it out of the box (it was already assembled), placed it on the ground, poured 1 cup of chicken feed in it. Within 2 hours I had 2 squirrels!! Within 2 days I had 16 Squirrels!!!We used chicken feed and cat food for bait with great success. Thank you Rugged Ranch!!!Date published: 2016-07-06Rated 5 out of 5 by Nancy N from Over the past couple of weeks I have caught over 2 dozen ground squirrels. I set the traps in an area where I have noticed squirrels a few yards away from their holes. I set them on the ground and sprinkle a little dry dog food outside of the traps and more in the middle of the trap directly on the ground as the directions read. The most I've caught at one time is 4. One thing to note however, don't leave the traps out at night. Skunks are nocturnal.Date published: 2016-06-28Rated 3 out of 5 by JMC from We have both ground and gray tree squirrels. We enjoy the gray ones. The ground squirrels cause havoc. Fortunately for us, only ground squirrels enter. If you want to catch gray squirrels, look elsewhere.Do not use dog food, cat food, or anything a skunk might like. Don't ask.If you see squirrels and do not catch any, move the trap. Some places just do not work for unknown reasons. (The mind of the squirrel.)Date published: 2017-07-18Rated 5 out of 5 by Kelley Ferry from My husband thinks this is the greatest product. Easy to use right out of the box, no need to deal with dangerous poisons or snap type traps. He just puts it out with a small amount of grain for bait, checks them a couple of times a day and disposes of the pests. We have been completely overrun by squirrels and this is a safe, effective way to help eliminate the problem. We could not be happier with the traps.Date published: 2015-03-04Rated 5 out of 5 by Nancy N from It works great for ground squirrels. In the last 2 weeks I have caught over 2 dozen squirrels. Usually there are 1 to 2 in the cage when I check it. But I have caught up to 4 at a time. I have been using dry dog food for bait. I sprinkle a little around the outside of the trap and put more in the middle of the trap directly on the ground. One thing to note however. Product Questions
As I read the reviews on this trap, I'm not sure whether it's for gray squirrels or what some people call ground squirrels. Here ground squirrels are called chipmunks. I want to trap the larger gray squirrels, and saw a trap called 'chipinator' which was specifically for chipmunks. Is this the trap to use for gray squirrels? Chipmunks are much smaller.
