RURAL KING RETURN POLICY
At Rural King, we want you to be satisfied with not only your purchase, but your overall experience. With that in mind, Rural King’s Return Policy is designed to be as hassle-free and fair as possible. Please review the following guidelines to process your return.
Problems With Your Order. If you receive an order that arrives damaged, defective, or in need of replacement parts, please contact Rural King’s customer service team at 1-800-561-1752 or reach out to us via email at [email protected]. Or associates will be happy to provide a replacement or assist you with your return.
Returns WITH Receipt. In order to process your return with receipt, the return must be initiated within thirty (30) calendar days of the original purchase. Products eligible for return will be in like new condition, undamaged, and include all appropriate tags and/or product paperwork. Digital receipts may also be an option for customers who use a credit/debit card or those customers who participate in our Rural King Rewards Program. Digital receipts are accepted as a valid proof of purchase. No ID is required to process a return if a receipt is presented.
If your item is eligible for return, payment will be sent in accordance with the chart below:

† Refund timelines will vary by the financial institution involved. The credit card must be present.
Returns WITHOUT Receipt.If you have lost or misplaced your receipt, we may be able to help! As noted above, a digital receipt may be an option if you have the original credit/debit card on hand or by accessing your Rural King Loyalty Rewards Account. If these options are not available, to move forward without a receipt, the return must be initiated within 30 calendar days of the original purchase. Products eligible must be in like new condition, undamaged, and include all appropriate tags and/or product paperwork. For all returns without a receipt, the customer must also provide a Driver’s License or State ID. This allows the cashier to obtain the individual’s name and address for Rural King’s records where allowed by law. Rural King reserves the right to limit returns initiated without proof of purchase. In accordance with that right, each customer is limited to $500 worth of returns WITHOUT a receipt each calendar year. After a customer reaches the $500 threshold, no returns will be permitted unless they are accompanied by a valid proof of purchase. ALL returns without a receipt will receive a Rural King Merchandise Gift Card for store use. No other form of payment will be provided.
Cancelling Online Orders. If you wish to cancel an online order, please contact customer service at 1-800-561-1752 or by emailing [email protected]. Customer service must confirm the cancellation request. If your order has already been prepared for shipping, it cannot be cancelled. If you have ordered a product online and set up in store pick up (BOPIS), please call the store location on your order, and that specific store will gladly assist in the cancellation process.
Returning Online Orders. To return an order placed online, the Customer is encouraged to simply bring the item to the nearest Rural King location in its original packaging. The product must be undamaged and in like new condition. Please keep in mind, Customers must also bring a copy of the order number or proof of purchase to process the return in-store. Visit our website to find a store near you. To initiate the return process via shipment, Customers will simply contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-561-1752. Our Customer Service team will then provide you with a Return Authorization Number. This Return Authorization Number will need to be attached to the package to process the return.
Items that are missing a valid proof of purchase, arrive damaged, or are missing the original packaging may be subject to refusal. Customer is responsible for all shipping costs for non-defective items. Please note: The Customer will not be refunded until the item is received in the condition described above.
Large Item Returns. Be sure to carefully inspect all heavy item(s) deliveries for damage before signing the bill of lading “BOL.” If the large item arrives damaged or defective, you must note this on the shipping receipt or BOL and refuse delivery to avoid paying return freight charges. If this is not completed, you, the Customer, will be responsible for returning freight charges back to the shipping location.
In addition to the above, the customer will be responsible for the freight costs in the following instances:
- Missed delivery appointment
- Refused or returned a non-damaged, non-defective item
In certain situations, Rural King may opt to provide replacement parts and/or a service technician instead of returning the whole item.
Important Exceptions.The following items are not eligible for return or have additional limitations:
Gasoline and Diesel-Powered Items. Due to legal restrictions and employee safety concerns, Rural King cannot accept the return of gas or diesel-powered items. Once said items have been filled or operated, they must be repaired at an authorized service center under the manufacturer's warranty or general repair practices.
Gas and diesel-powered items include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Chipper shredders
- ATV/UTV/4 Wheelers
- Pressure washers
- Log splitters
Livestock or live animals. Due to health and safety concerns, Rural King does not accept the return of livestock animals, including, but not limited to, animals such as rabbits, ducks, or poultry. After a livestock animal has left the Rural King location, the animal will not be allowed back on site. However, customers have a 24-hour reporting period from the time of purchase to notify the local Store Manager of any potential issue with the sale. Upon sufficient evidence, the Store Manager(s), in their sole discretion, may supply a replacement livestock animal or refund the original purchase price. Any claims made after the 24-hour grace period are deemed void, and no replacement or refund is permitted.
Firearms. Due to legal concerns, firearms cannot be returned after the transfer process has been completed. It is your responsibility to thoroughly inspect the firearm BEFORE completing the transfer. To report any issues on the firearm PRIOR to transfer, contact us here. Please note: If the transfer has been completed, you will be subject to the manufacturer’s determinations regarding replacement and repair. All repair work should be completed by working with the manufacturer directly.
Ammunition. Due to safety concerns, returns on ammunition are strictly prohibited.
Binary Targets. Due to safety concerns, “Tannerite” or other binary exploding targets are not eligible for return.
Dangerous Chemicals. Due to safety concerns with our employees and our customers, returns on open chemicals, paint, pesticides, or other hazardous materials are prohibited. If the item is discovered to be defective after opening, the customer should bring images of the product defect along with a valid proof of purchase to the local store location. Once this information is obtained, a refund or replacement may be provided, but RK will not take possession of the defective item. Flammable liquids or gases also cannot be returned through the mail. If you are not located near a Rural King location, please email [email protected] and supply evidence of your defect to obtain a replacement.
Final sale goods or Special Promotions. Products marked "as is," "no returns accepted," "all sales final,” “oops,” or with similar language are not eligible for return. Similarly, to process a return on a buy one, get one (BOGO) promotion, BOTH items must be brought back to the store within 30-days of purchase.
Trailers. Trailers are not eligible for return.
Air Conditioners. Air conditioning units are not eligible for return. Repairs will be performed under the warranty and repair policy below.
Consumables. Due to health and safety concerns, opened consumables cannot be returned, but the product may be exchanged if the original item was defective or damaged.
Gift Cards. Gift Cards are not eligible for return. Lost, stolen, or damaged RK gift cards may only be replaced for the remaining balance by presenting the original receipt.
Golf Carts. Golf carts are not eligible for return.
Crossbows/Compound Bows. Due to safety concerns, bows are not eligible for return.
Warranty and Repair. After 30 calendar days, products are no longer covered by our Return Policy, but rather Manufacturer’s Warranty or Rural King Plus Protection Plan Warranty (if purchased). To repair items that qualify under Manufacturer’s warranty, please contact the manufacturer to locate an Authorized Service Center near you.
