Will feeding this cause my horse to gain weight?
GRO ‘N WIN is designed to be a highly fortified source of protein, vitamins and minerals while being low in calories, fat, starch and sugar. Most horses will have their nutritional needs met with only 1-1.5lbs fed daily. It will not cause significant weight gain in most horses.
Is this a supplement to be added to other feeds, or to feed by itself?
GRO ‘N WIN is a ration balancer, designed to be the horses daily multi-vitamin. For horses that keep weight well on hay or pasture alone, it can be fed on its own. If you are underfeeding a different grain product, GRO ‘N WIN can be added to the diet to increase protein, vitamin and mineral intake.
Is this a complete feed?
GRO ‘N WIN is not designed to replace forage, but it will meet protein, vitamin and mineral requirements for horses when fed appropriately and paired with quality hay or pasture. Complete feeds are designed to fully replace forage in the diet.
Do you need to feed additional vitamins and minerals with this product?
It is not recommended to feed additional vitamins and minerals when feeding GRO ‘N WIN. Free-choice salt is recommended for all horses.
Is this safe to feed to horses with metabolic issues?
GRO ‘N WIN is only 13% NSC (starch + sugar), making it an appropriate choice for many metabolic horses. Always consult your veterinarian before making nutrition changes for horses with a metabolic disorder.
